At the moment some users are experiencing this issue because we moved domain. Assuming that you had correctly activated the license on that domain, and the update failed as you say, do you have a Windows based server? If you DO have a Windows server (unlikely, as most use Apache), you will need this plugin installed to overcome a bug with that server software:

We are working on fixing it, but they may take a while. It will not affect updates once you have updated to v2.4.4.
