I created a basic search form to work with anywhere elementor and CPT UI following the instructions in the documentation. While it seems to be linked to the custom posts properly, the filters and search don’t actually work and none of the categories are showing up.

    Hey Trevor,
By using the elementor method, am I able to build my query to my liking as I am now via the shortcode method? The design we are using now is very specific and I need to maintain this look for the client.

I was under the impression that the reason you would use the elementor method is to just add the filtering aspect of your plugin to elementors built-in / default grid.

Hey Trevor, thanks for the speedy reply!

I’m not using an elementor element to pull cpts in, I’m just using elementor to frame the page / set the layout for the archives post type. So it’s essentially just a shortcode on an elementor page if that makes sense.

I’m also noticing now that I’m having a similar issue on another site we manage.

If you are using Elementor, make sure that in the element you are using for displaying the posts, if it has the option to do so in the Pagination settings, switch Ajax OFF.

Hello, a few months ago I re-built a book reviewing website and now use search and filter for all queries / loops. I use search and filter on almost every website and have really come to depend on your plugin (it’s really great!).

However, we’ve noticed that the default pagination slugs (/custom-post-type/page/24/) no longer redirect or pull the correct content that the Search & Filter Pros equivalent slug (/?sf_paged=24) pulls. As mentioned in the title of the post, the results instead show page 1’s results.

I want to say that navigating to /custom-post-type/page/24/ once pulled the correct content but now it’s not working?

The main reason why this is important is because of the canonical links in the head are formatted as /custom-post-type/page/24/ and as such, is an SEO concern.

    A little about the setup:

    • Each S&F loop is being displayed via shortcode.
    • Detects defaults from current page via”Post Type Archives” & “Tag, Category & Taxonomy Archives”
    • and includes Taxonomy sorting within the Search Form UI.

Another important mention is that I’m using Elementor Pro to assign an template to serve as the archive page which includes the S&F shortcode. I don’t know why this would matter but though I should mention it.

    Hi,
I´m having a problem with the plugin. I was configured all with the instruccion of

    https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/search-results/using-a-shortcode/

but no matter what I do, it´s always the same result “No Results Found”

I´m working whit elementor pro 2.6.5 and search and filter pro 2.4.6. Can be some problem of my visual mockup?

    thanks

    Hey Trevor,

thx a lot! Now it works fine. it’s simple but perfect! 🙂

But to do this, i had to change also the general settings for the elementor widget for listing grids. there is an option to use it as archive template, which was activated. i had to deactivate it to show now the results too.

    thumbs up!

    Hi Ralf

It looks like you are using Elementor to display the ‘results’, and thus should be using a different method to join our form to the results.

You have a shortocde in the sidebar:

    [searchandfilter id="216"]

But it needs two shortcodes (I have done this for you):

    [searchandfilter id="216"]
    [searchandfilter id="216" action="filter_next_query"]

Then the form needs to be setup differently on the Display Result settings tab, so I have set this up for you also:

I am not sure this will work, as I have not tested with the Jet Engine. I cannot see any pagination, so I am unsure if this is correct.

Can you give this a try?

The other issue. I am sorry, but Auto Update does not apply range fields. It is intentional, as to enable these has unintended consequences.

You add the options as fields in our form UI. Styling is down to you. You do not use Elementor, but instead you must manually style the form using Custom CSS.

Basically I am stuck on how I actually display the list to the user.

Do I create the list UI in elementor or if search and filter pro can show the list how do I style if and make it pretty?
