I think this is two questions, so let’s address one at a time and deal with the duplicate select box. You have a site-wide header and the search form is in this. You have (possibly?) chosen (it would appear) to use the Archive display method so that a search from any page will take you to a single search results page. But, in the content section of the results page, you have also placed the search form. as it is also in the site-wide header, it appears twice. This needs to be fixed so that it appears only once.

I may have assumed too much there, so my apologies if I have.

Hi Ronald

Your project would take a LOT of hours for a coder to achieve. It is not something we could even remotely consider becoming involved with. I cannot begin to think where you would find such a team, but be prepared for a major expense for such a project (5 or 6 figure sums are likely). I am going to close this thread, as this discussion is way outside the scope of technical support for this plugin.

OK.

You want the ability to make a search of some sort from most site pages, but when you get to the search results be able to have a more detailed search? Let us first focus on the search result page then. Design that and get it right. Do you want people who arrive there to be fixed on a given category without the option to change it, or be able to change it? Did you want a different layout per category, or no change, or minor styling changes?

Whilst I have asked Ross to take a look at this post, I just wish to make sure I have understood your question.

This is something different to have the numbers next to each category and the pagination, yes? Something like a heading that says:

23 results found based on your selections (if any)

at the top of the results, maybe?

I haven’t used the search form from S&F initially but the WordPress one with Relevansi – will that make a difference?

I suspect that you will need to make one in S&F.
