Using search & filter pro for multiple filtered gallery(Private) May 17, 2016 at 10:06 am #45738
Hi and welcome
I am going to ask the critical question, what theme are you using? This affects the route forward more than any other issue.Trevor Moderator in reply to:
Remember search results and filter setting when go back in browser(Private) May 17, 2016 at 9:44 am #45736
As ajax submits in a way that the browser does not remember, the back button will not do as required. Instead they would have to deselect single to go back. This is a function of the way that browsers work.Trevor Moderator in reply to:
A pre-sales (Search functionality/behavior) inquiry(Private) May 17, 2016 at 8:43 am #45722
I will answer the questions in reverse order (and I do hope I understand you correctly, so if I do not, please come back for clarification).
You want the results to show in the area under the search, on the same page? This is POSSIBLE in different ways. The search you show appears to be on the home page, yes?
I will explain. S&F Pro has many different display methods, and the one I suspect that you will want to use is the ‘shortcode’ method, as described here:
In your case, if it is to be the home page, the page that you create would be the one used by WordPress (in Settings -> Reading) as the Home Page.
In turn, this depends on the theme that you are using being able to accept the shortcodes being entered, or you may need to edit the theme’s template php file to add them. So, this can vary from very easy to quite hard, depending on the theme.
As to the first question, S&F Pro has 2 functions, Auto Count and Hide Empty Values, that mean that as you select values from one dropdown, only relevant values remain in the other dropdowns (the other dropdowns re-populate the values so that the other non-valid values disappear).
This works best (quicker and more smoothly) with Ajax enabled, assuming your theme supports Ajax, otherwise a page reload happens.Trevor Moderator in reply to:
Custom fields not displaying(Private) May 17, 2016 at 8:20 am #45715
As promised, you would need args like this:
$args = array( 'post_type' => 'resources', 'post_status' => 'publish', 'posts_per_page' => '10', 'search_filter_id' => '456' );
Not sure if it actually needs the quotes around the 456 (is that the ID number for your form?)Trevor Moderator in reply to:
Results not refreshing(Private) May 16, 2016 at 9:21 pm #45680
I can do that quite easily. Do this for now:
1. Create a folder in your theme folder called
2. Copy the file wp-content\plugins\search-filter\templates\results.php from the templates folder in to the newly created folder in your theme – wp-content\themes\your-theme-name\search-filter\results.php
