I want to update from 1.4.1 to the latest version. I tried to install via WP interface and adding new plugin but it said the directory already existed. Do I have to copy the files manually? If so, how do I do it so I don’t lose all my existing settings and forms?

    Hi Mike

We’re having hosting/server issues at the moment, I feel quite lucky I’m even able to post on here! This I’m afraid is also causing issues to automatic updates :/

    To upgrade do the following:

    1) Download S&F from your account
    2) Disable S&F (do not remove)
    3) Delete the search-filter-pro folder from your plugins
    4) Upload the new version
    5) Re-enable S&F

You should probably also check out the upgrade notes for 2.0 before doing anything:

    Thanks

I’d already checked the documentation but what I’m not sure about is what happens to my existing settings and form when I upgrade? you mentioned to delete the folder from my plugins – won’t I lose everything I had set up?

Nope the steps 1-5 will keep all your forms because they are stored in the database 🙂

I’ve updated the plugin and now, nothing works on the search or filtering?
