What is your recommended method of updating this plugin? We have the paid version, but there is no auto update path, so I removed the plugin and reinstalled the newest version and all my searches disappeared. I restored (thankfully I did a backup first) but need a way forward without having to rebuild my searches.

You must have had a relatively old version of our plugin, as new versions have this option (see the red highlighted area):
