Thank you very much for your help, we finally got the plugin working! There is one issue remaining: The meta data of each search result is not displayed. We try to achieve something similar to this: http://opendata.ffe.de/?s=Solar
This is our current draft: http://opendata.ffe.de/searchfilter-test/
Using a short JS script, we were able to display the button, the symbol next to the title as well as the link to the category. However, we have had some trouble accessing the metadata via PHP. We followed the approach described here (https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/accessing-search-data/) and here (https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/accessing-field-slug-on-search-results/#post-169171), but the printed results array is empty. We already checked that our ID is correct. As described earlier, we are using Elementor Pro on our page.

Hi Vagi, I guesss this is after you use ajax, and you want masonry effect?

Happy new year! Hope you had good holidays. Sorry, how to deque it? I googled how to do it and came up with some code:

I have a two column layout set up. Is it possible to have the filter options in the right column and the Elementor post grid in the left column? I can’t get this scenario to work. But if I reverse columns so that the filter options are in the left column, it works fine. My sticking point seems to be the requirements that the filter_next_query shortcode needs to be before the posts widget but after the search and filter form.
Also, it would be helpful on your Elementor information page to indicate that the filter_next_query shortcode has to go after the search and filter form. I struggled mightily with getting the filters to work until I finally found that piece of information here in the forums.

I hadn’t seen the forum link you just shared, it’s a little beyond me I think.

Am I right that I need the 2nd form? I think It should be able to be done with just one?
The functionality I’m going for is:
1) general search form in menu directs to
2) search results page with additional filters available.

If the search and filter movie demo were the example, the user would be able to search director and then land on the page with multiple results and further filter by genre/year, etc.

Or like this page https://www.commoncause.org/site-search/?phrase=JESSE allows users to search one term and then has post type filter at the top.

Thanks a lot for the hard work you guys put in this great S&F.
I have a question.
I try to get the filtered Categories shown above my filter results.
As in: Categories: (here the filtered terms).
I followed this advice: https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/accessing-search-data/

And use now this code and get it in elementor with snippets:

What I notice are two things:
1. with AJAX on, after the filter search, I need to refresh the page to get the code active/filled with the active terms
2. If Ajax is off, it is automatically updating ( I think due to reload page).

Can you help me to get this working with Ajax on?

Hi all,

I can’t edit my pages and posts in Elementor due to a fatal error caused by S&F Pro Plugin. Even when I deactivate the plugin I can’t open a page in Elementor any more. Please help!

I tried to install v version 2.5.0 but failed as well as in updating as in uploading it. Don’t dare to delete it completely, because I don’t want to lose my setting. The IT-company is out of office until Jan.7, so need your help, I have no idea how to proceed.

I followed the documentation and tried the method described in the post below but it don’t seem to work.

My post-grid when I click on categories seem to load but nothing happen : https://www.wecangroup.ch/media/

I added the script directly in the .js file of the theme. Put my search and filter shortcode through elementor. And here’s my setting of “Display results” in the dashboard :

My first thought is you are using Elementor Pro. You should use the method described here:

It will require you to place a Post grid on the page. When doing that, leave it in default settings to test it all is working.
