Having had to manually install the last version due to some glitch, See Thread, I get the same problem when trying to update to 2.3.3;
“Update Failed: Download failed. cURL error 51: SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK”
Is there a fix for this issue, as I do not want to manually ftp into the site and update the files each time there is a new release?Trevor(Private) March 3, 2017 at 11:50 am #94279Does your site have a self-generated SSL certificate, as this message is a server error. You can Google the actual error message and there a lot of hits, such as this:
http://serverfault.com/questions/469824/curl-disable-certificate-verification
OTOH. I had an issue with one of my site updating this morning, so I went in the plugin License settings and disconnected the license. I left it for 30 minutes, Went back, and re-entered my license key. If the green ‘Active’ message does not appear, give it another 30 minutes and check. For me the active label had now appeared. Then I tried to update and it worked.
But I did not see a cURL message like you have.
Trevor(Private) March 4, 2017 at 8:35 am #94479What version do you have currently installed? If it is 2.3.1 or 2.3.2 you can simply deactivate and delete from WordPress and install the new version from your account download area. You cannot do this (safely) for v2.3.0 or earlier, but newer versions you can.
