I’ve got S&F shortcodes set up for several child page content feeds for my site using the Divi theme from Elegant Themes hosted on WPEngine.

The site as a whole is running extremely slow when S&F is enabled. I’ve setup a CDN and hooked up Autoptimize in hopes of things speeding up, but no luck.

Here is an example of a page with S&F running Visit Twin Cities Breweries

Can I ask how many posts you have?

There is a pretty large amount of posts across the site. I’d say 500+.

    50,000 is large 😉 500 should be a breeze.

Does the home page have one or more results loops using search & Filter pro?

    🙂

There isn’t anything running on the HP with for S&F. Most of the S&F shortcodes are on the third level child pages.

Have you done any loading tests (such as https://www.site24x7.com/web-page-analyzer.html – make sure you do it from a test location near your server, there is a tool to find where your is on that page also)? Or used query Monitor to see what is going on?

    Checking now.

    Something like https://www.webpagetest.org work?

Run things through site27x7 and installed Query Monitor, but not really sure what I’m looking.

On the Site 24 it will give you an asset loading cascade chart. What is taking all the time? Slow loading of the files (images etc) won’t be caused by S&F, but look at the initial load bar (the first one or two). That is all about connection time and reading from the database and hard drives.
