Hi Ross, Thank you for looking at this again.
Unfortunately, it is still not doing what it should. I have selected Relevanssi option and rebuilt the cache.
If I search for ‘invasive marine pests’ (text that appears in a text description meta of one of the custom posts), and leave the categories set as ‘All categories’, the results simply show all the posts and pages, not just the one that has those three words. I have tried this using both the ‘And’ and ‘Or’ relationship setting in the search form.
If I try the same search with just one keyword ‘marine’ and select one of the categories that I know the word is in as meta content, it shows all 4 posts from the category, as opposed to just the one with the search word.
I have also just removed the ‘Categories’ from the search form and tried just a text search for a word that is in one of the custom fields (marine), and all I get is all posts and pages.
Finally, I have just tried the shortcode form, and then searched for a word that I know is not in the content, with ‘all categories’, relationships set to ‘And’… and it just shows all the categories as opposed to saying ‘no results’.
Sorry Ross, but I don’t think this plugin is doing what it should?
If this is the case, then I will probably request a refund.
Ross Moderator(Private) December 11, 2015 at 1:02 pm #31985Sorry I really should have been more clear…
You need to install the Relevanssi plugin.
Search & Filter does not have a free text search inside custom fields – currently you can only create UI elements with custom fields as is is advertised.
However, we do support Relevanssi, which does allow things like that – so once you install Relevanssi, enable that option (and configure Relevanssi to search in your custom fields).
Thanks
