    Do you have the PHP code from the current page template for the while have posts part of the loop?

    You could probably edit our results.php – place the edited copy in the child theme sub-folder mentioned here:

    https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/search-results/using-a-shortcode/#customising-the-results

    And replace that part of our exemplar code with that of your theme template?

    Ah. If you are editing the page in WP admin, does it offer the choice of template or whether to have a sidebar or not? Most themes do.

    Yes it does but whichever template I choose doesn’t affect the layout because it’s using the results.php template.

    But it uses that template only inside the content part of the page (where what you would type in the editor would be).

    Thank you I understand now, I enabled the sidebar on the page, then created a new sidebar widget and inserted the search form shortcode and its now working correctly, just need to tweak the CSS a little.
