Hello Ross,
If you remember you had a look at this site a few weeks ago.
All was working fine until I recently updated to 2.0.3. a couple of days ago, when it was noticed that the search did not return results for certain categories/taxanomies.
e.g. in the Brands search search retuens no results for Fybroc brand and a coupel of others. Same is true for other forms below.
I did try to update the cache, selected types groups in search types, checked both post types and category/taxanomies archives changed all AND to OR but nothing worked.
I am unable to understand why it will work for one taxanomy and not other, when it shows there are records for that taxanomy
All help will be much appreciated
Ross Moderator(Private) November 25, 2015 at 9:49 am #30700Hi Jeff
Between 2.0.2 and 2.0.3 there have been pretty much no changes to the search logic.
I think realistically, this will be because of some changes made to your site.
So try to think what else has changed, such plugins, custom code, theme updates – anything at all could potentially cause a conflict so take a look at site and see what else has been updated in any way.
Usually, for this type of issue, I would say to look at the two tabs “tag, categories & taxonomies” and the “post meta”.
People often set these up in a way where they cause unexpected conflicts – so empty these two tabs out and test again – although from the sounds of it you haven’t changed the settings in S&F recently?
Thanks
Anonymous(Private) November 26, 2015 at 8:07 am #30784I checked everything again. I don’t understand why the results are not being shown only for a certain categories/taxanomies.
e.g. for Brands, the search returns results for ‘Goulds’ but not for ‘Varisco’.
I also noticed that when the page loads the search form shows the count in each category but would not return the results.
If you have an insights please do let me know.
Ross Moderator(Private) November 27, 2015 at 8:42 am #30861Hi Jeff
I’ve just emailed you the last few version of S&F – can you downgrade (shouldn’t be an issue) to see if it was in fact a bug that has been introduced in a recent version?
I’ve also supplied the current dev version, I guess I would give that a try first as there are a few bug fixes in there 🙂
Thanks

I emailed these to your email on your account – just forwarded this again to those email addresses.
Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) December 4, 2015 at 12:12 pm #31442Hi Jeff
Can you tell me which worked?
Because without solving the issue, you won’t be able to update the plugin :/
Thanks
