    The title for the search field IS showing but the field is not..
    It has dissappeared. It occasionally flashes on at first page load and then goes.

    I also cannot see where to alter the size of the field titles.
    Also is there a way to move the reset button to the line below?

    Your theme, Salient, has a javascript file that modifies much of the page dynamically, on page load. One such function in the init.js file is convertToMinimalStyle and it is this that is doing what you see. Is there a theme setting to switch this off? Maybe this will help:
