Hi Trevor,
As you know we’re working on https://poppenoog.nl. For example we use the Search & Filter plugin on https://poppenoog.nl/huurboten and somehow the reset button doesn’t work.
When I check some random boxes and pick some other choices I’ll click Reset alle filters (Reset all filters) but as you can see it doesn’t clear al the choices that have been made.
This same issue happens when I go to https://poppenoog.nl/huurboten and, for instance, only check ‘vaarbewijs niet verplicht’ beneath Vaarbewijs. As I uncheck it I would expect every result to be visible again but somehow it’s still filtering.
I do notice that instead of the URL being https://poppenoog.nl/huurboten/?_sfm_boot_vaarbewijs=Vaarbewijs%20niet%20verplicht (which would be enough when I only check the checkbox ‘vaarbewijs niet verplicht’)
I hope you can help us with this problem.
Best regards,
Robin Peek
The Reset button does not clear all filters, especially range ones and possibly the text search box. You would need a link back to the original search page to do that.
Thanks for your quick reply Trevor. Is it possible to change the ‘behaviour’ of the reset button? So that we could make sure we have the right URL for the right reset button?
Does that also mean it’s normal for the filter to not go back to the previous filtering when we pick a checkbox and uncheck it?
The issue is that as soon as you submit the first query after opening the page, the form adds the slider values in their default state.
Any post that does not have a value in ANY one of the fields that all of these sliders use will be excluded from the results at this point, as would any post that has a value outside of the default ranges of these sliders.
OK. So if I understand you correctly the only way to get the button to work like we want is to change the hyperlink to, for this instance, https://poppenoog.nl/huurboten
Could you tell us how we can do that?
Rather than have a Reset button (so remove the button), just above the form, place a link like that.
