    OK, I am very curious, since a flexible field approach might add so much value to your product

    Yeah the idea is you could create whatever you want really in terms of UI, you just provide via JS the value you wish to be searched (or to go in the URL) while you would handle the internals of how your field calculates that – this could actually be comprised of multiple UI elements, S&F wouldn’t care about that.
