Since installing, I’ve run the cache 3x so far on 50k products since I’ve added more and want them to be searchable through the plugin but just today after the 3rd run, I noticed a server issue that concerned me. I wanted to see if this was creating any temp files that could be deleted or if it had any correlation at all. I do run a good bit of products on my site, probably more than most would.

The filesystem “/dev/mapper/sysBmzX-tmp”, which is mounted at “/tmp”,
has reached “critical” status because it is 92.69% full.

I appreciate any feedback I can get thank you

    Hey Jonathan

There are no files created by Search & Filter.

All the caching is stored in the database – in two tables: search_filter_cache and search_filter_term_results.

Every time the cache is rebuilt, these two tables are truncated so there is not data left, and the cache is rebuilt.

I would imagine with that many products you might run in to some speed issue – but if you’re not thats great (there are some improvements coming).

Just to ask, why are your rebuilding the cache each time? Once you’ve built the cache once, S&F keeps track of the caching and updates individual posts as and when you create/edit them – so you shouldn’t need to rebuild.

You mentioned a potential server issue as well. Well just to let you know, the caching system when its restarting is quite resource hungry – its quite a complex and lengthy process and I’ve had a handful of users’ report issues in their setups – something which I’m working on at the moment is slowing this down to cause less stress on resources, however this also means the entire caching process would be slower.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
