Hi,
i had a bug yesterday after updating WordPress to 4.9.5.
After upgrade i just went back to my php in file editor for making changes to my custom theme. When i hit the save button, a red msg came up stating:
“Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.”
So i followed some advices found around, such as Health plugin, but nothing worked better than deactivating and reactivating one by one all the plugins.
It came out that the plugin causing this is “Search & Filter Pro”, so while i’m still in develop stage i can survive deactivating it.
Are you aware of this?
Thanks for replies.Anonymous(Private) April 10, 2018 at 1:33 am #171093I am getting a similar issue upon upgrading to 4.9.5: Whenever I publish a post or do any database-altering task, I get a 502 Bad Gateway message.

Trevor(Private) April 10, 2018 at 12:07 pm #171172I will refer this to the plugin developer, Ross, for his attention. As a temporary workaround, you can use this plugin (but go to the plugin’s options and disable it for the Post Editor):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-editor/
It is a little old, but works fin for me, and has more options.
