Page title is first result and not the page title

Hi,

I saw a comment on this issue last week. But I can’t seem to find it.

I have a custom theme with a custom front-page.php. On this front-page I have a S&F box using drop-downs to select the group total (for selecting boats).

Now when I try to get the title (<?php the_title(); ?>) It shows the first item from the boat selection (boat X) and not the title of the page. I could over write this, but I would like to understand why this is happening?

It may be the template that is the issue, as the results need to be based on (ideally) the search.php template from the theme.
