Completely new to WordPress, plugins, etc. I don’t really understand the instructions that well due to lack of familiarity. I searched a bit but TBHHoping someone can help me set up my search form.
What I want to do is have two different search boxes, one that searches all posts with X tag and another that searches all post with Y tag. I am trying to sort the posts into two chunks prior to the user entering their search word. The reason I want to do it this way is that with one chunk of posts, the users are speaking a different language, which means their search box label will be in that language.
I made a form to test and it returned nothing 🙁 Not sure why that happened.
Rebuilding the cache – does that re-run every time there is a new post or just when there is a new form created? Mine says there is a problem so the window has to stay open during building, but the background box IS checked. How can I fix this issue and/or will it be a problem later?
Thanks for any help! This is for an NGO based in Africa.

Ok first things first.
1) You wont be able to create 1 search form, with 2 search boxes.
But, I think there may be a better way to approach the task. S&F supports multilingual plugins, so if you set up your content as different languages in WordPress, then you can create separate search forms for each language.
Checkout Polylang and WPML – https://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/3rd-party/
2) Not sure why it returned nothing, when creating a search form, always start with a really simple form, like a search box, and submit, and post type. Publish and test. Then add on more features.
So create a new search form, only choose your post type, add a search & submit box, and the publish.
Does this work?
3) The cache only needs to be built once when a search form is created, and sometimes it needs to be rebuilt when certain fields change when updating a search form – you shouldn’t have to “rebuild the cache” as S&F will restart it automatically.
Once its built, you can leave it alone, and when you create / edit post, S&F will stay synchronized, so no need to worry about the cache.
Hope that helps
Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) March 16, 2016 at 10:56 pm #39607Hey Andrea
You should be able to use any Language with those plugins, and you can provide your own translations :/
I’m afraid Monday is way too close for custom work as I’m completely busy with my current workload.
A quick google shows you can add your own language with WPML – https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-in-amharic-ethiopian/
And I’m sure there are similar methods for PolyLang
As I mention, its not possible to have 2 search boxes in the same search form, but you could create two separate search forms, and add them to a single page – which look inside different categories etc – I guess this is still close to what you want.
If you are happy to go down this road then I am happy to help guide you.
Thanks
