Hello.
I created a filter on https://www.globalenvironments.org/community/. Since our previous discussion (for reference, my earlier ticket on this is https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/set-filter-with-one-set-portfolio-category/page/2/#post-249320″), I created some additional portfolio categories — i.e. Poland, Romania, Scotland, ALLSA 2019 — which now appear at the bottom of the list in the dropdown menu “Select a specialisation”.
I’m not sure why these new categories (Poland, Romania, Scotland, ALLSA 2019) are appearing there, as none of the other countries appear in the list (as is what we’d set).
Please advise.
Thanks.
MarinaAnonymous(Private) July 21, 2020 at 8:36 am #253368On a similar note, in the Africa page https://www.globalenvironments.org/africa/, in the dropdown box for Select a Specialisation, the category “Resource People” also now appears. This is also a recently-created Portfolio Category, and should not appear on this list.
How do I remove it, and also ensure that when I create new portfolio categories in the future, they do not automatically appear?
Many thanks.
MarinaTrevor(Private) July 21, 2020 at 12:56 pm #253402I can see no reason why the few are not in their correct order. I did try a few different setting changes) in the advanced settings of the field, and they generally work, but not for these terms, which are always in the wrong place.
I have referred this thread to our plugin developer, Ross, for his attention.

Ross, this seems to be happening with the new categories that I create.
For example, for https://www.globalenvironments.org/community/ , the dropdown list for Select a Specialisation shouldn’t show the following:
– Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean (please note both these are under the Parent Category: Region of Specialisation
– ALLSA 2019
– Resource People
– Poland, Romania, ScotlandFor our region pages, e.g. https://www.globalenvironments.org/africa/, Latin America & the Caribbean and Resource People shouldn’t appear. There seems to be similar issues in the other region pages, i.e. Asia, Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, Northern America, Oceania.
Look forward to hearing back. I will continue to add categories over the coming months, as we receive responses from our members, so it would be great to understand why this issue is happening, and how to fix it.
Many thanks.

I cannot see anythign wrong with your setup, so it is unusual this is occuring – right now, I don’t see (on the community page) those categories at the bottom, but they do appear in a non alphabetical order…
Just so you know, Search & Filter doesn’t actually do the sorting of these fields, we use WordPress to do that, so we’re using standard WP functions, asking WP for your portfolio categories, in alphabetical order, and its returning them in the wrong order.
It sounds to me that a plugin (or your theme) could somehow be interferring with the ordering process…
We will need to do some testing, and disable things… which I’m sure can’t happen on your live site. Can you set a copy of the site up on a staging or development server?
Thanks
