Include a category and its child-category

Hi

Is there a way to use a form field category that displays a category and its child category ?

The idea is that the site categories at large as well child category of a given one might evolve through time, so I can’t include them “individually”, and I can’t exclude all the others neither.

Do you want to ONLY show that Category Term and its children? If so, it would be better to have a custom taxonomy for just that Category Term, where the terms are all its children.

Yes this is what I want. I indeed have considered building a category for that, but it is really penalizing if we consider the broader site content.

It may be a feature request, for V3, with the idea in mind that one could use the same form for sitewide search or scoped search 🙂
