    I’ve set these two options in the settings:

    Detect defaults from current page

When a Search Form is used on any page other than the Search Results Page, S&F will try to detect the post type and associated taxonomies of the current page - and set defaults in the Search Form to match these.

Choose which kinds of pages S&F will try to do this on:
x Post Type Archives
x Tag, Category & Taxonomy Archives

    When these are turned on, when viewing category and sub category pages (which are known to contain posts), no results are shown until the page is manually refreshed (at which point the known posts appear).

    How do I make sure that posts are displayed on the category and sub category pages when first loaded?

    The search form on my category page includes category, date and search.

    Just to clarify – when I visit a category using my menu, no posts are displayed (even though they exist). If however I select the category in the search and click submit, the known posts then appear.
