Hey Jon
This can sometimes be tricky to implement but there is a logical way around it.
I’m assuming there are multiple reviews by users/customers, and likely, when you display the product you retrieve all the review data, and show an average on the page?
Well, what we need to do is sort of reverse this out.
Whenever a new review is submitted, it should get added to the review, but, in addition to this, the review must all be added together and averaged, and then saved back in to a custom meta field for this particular post.
This means, you custom meta data will always contain the correct average, as a single value, for the overall review of a product.
Once this is setup you can of course use this for a post meta filter 🙂
If you have any questions on the above let me know.
Thanks
