    I searched the forums for the answer to my question, but after 3 pages of mostly private responses (you should hide those in search results BTW), I didn’t find an answer.

    What happens if I don’t renew – does the product stop working or do I simply lose support and access to updates?

    The latter. It continues to work, unless external changes stop it (like a change in WordPress).
