Hi there,

I am receiving this error.
Error: There are 2 Search Forms set to use Post Type Archive display mode for the post type Properties – you may only have 1

I’m just wondering why I am only allowed one here.

The problem is that I have two very similar search forms.
On the home page, there is a search form someone can search for a ‘property’ and then press the submit button to load the properties page with search results.

However when they are on the properties page, there is a near identical form, but it has ‘auto submit form’ turned on so it updates on the page whenever the make any selection within the form.

So you can see why I want to have two fairly similar forms that both use the same archive page but have slightly different functionality.
And yet the error says I can only do one and I believe this stops the archive page’s ‘auto submit form’ feature from working.

Any chance of providing a solution or work around for my problem?

On the form for the Home Page, change the Display Results method to ‘Custom’ and set the full URL of the properties page, and switch off Ajax.

That’s sorted it out.

The ajax not working was also my fault as I realised I changed a container class name for the properties archive page so had to update the ajax container class there too 🙂
