    It should add it to the taxonomy on that post, assuming you assigned that taxonomy to that post type?

    You would need to leave them in Category, and then, for the posts you need them on, add them in that new taxonomy. You can use the same names, as they will be in a different taxonomy, so they will get new ID numbers.
