double authors not supported

hi, i have a site, http://www.ateatro.it, on which there are double authors for some articles (http://www.ateatro.it/webzine/2016/01/25/duettocritico2015-il-soggetto-nellera-della-riproducibilita-tecnica-mdlsx-dei-motus-con-silvia-calderoni/), managed by a plugin. When i do the search, even if wordpress correctly search for each author -both the article written by one author or by two authors-, the filter gives back only one author, the first of the two, ignoring all the other articles if they are written by an other author AND the author i am searching

is there any way to fix this?

after update (it was one year i was not updating) combo box is not working anymore

I don’t think this can work.

WordPress only allows posts to have 1 author, so adding in 2 authors via a plugin, will mean that it is implemented by some workaround – I can’t guess how, possibly a custom table, or custom taxonomies…

Anyway, S&F, when it comes to author, just uses the standard WP_Query – https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query#Author_Parameters

So it seems as if the plugin you are using won’t work with a standard author query.

As having multiple authors is not supported by WordPress there is very little I can do.

If you can shed some light as to how this plugin works I might be able to point your in the right direction.

hi,
it works in wp authors achive, and in other simpler filter pluigns.

If i look for an author i have both articles written alone and in double with an other author. The articles written by two authors appears in both the authors lists.

For example if you look for ‘Giulia Alonzo’ throw your plugin it seems there is only one article written by this author, while if you click on author’s name in the archives there are six, the right number of articles co-written by this person.

if i use https://it.wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-wp-query-search-filter/ the search is correct too (there are more other things not good with this plugin, for which i do not use it, but this search of the articles with two authors works fine, so seems to be possible)

the query of yout filter counts only the author appearign as first, so it counts only the first authors, while for the other authors the articles is not counted (while in the wp archive for each author they do appear).
