Hi,
I am using the Search & Filter pro plugin for a website, and it has worked beautifully so far. On this page in our dev site, the client requested that the Search be customized. Currently it searches by post title, but the client wants it to search by post content as well: http://sme.adsmithdev.com/thought-leadership/blog/. For example, if they typed in the name ‘John Haber,’ (the prez of the company), any content that appears with his name would also pop up, in addition to the post title.
Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to customize this! I didn’t see any options within the plugin.
Thanks,
Grace
Trevor(Private) June 24, 2019 at 3:54 pm #214773Normally, the Search & Filter Pro Text Search field uses the standard WordPress search, so looks only in the Post Title and Content. Are you saying that it is not doing this, or that you did something to make it search only the Titles? If so, what did you do?
Anonymous(Private) June 24, 2019 at 4:04 pm #214780Hi Trevor,
The search is working for Post Title but not for Content. I built this page using Advanced Custom Fields with Custom Post Types. The field name for the content section would be ‘excerpt.’ Is there any documentation for modifying the search to look for content within my custom field?
Trevor(Private) June 24, 2019 at 4:05 pm #214784To help you control the search better, on the form’s Advanced settings tab you will see 2 settings for Relevanssi.
The documentation for this is here:
https://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/3rd-party/relevanssi/
You would need to install and activate the free Relevanssi plugin as well.
Then set Relevanssi up and build its index (make sure it is indexing the desired post types AND the categories/tags/taxonomies/custom fields that you want to search).
