    Hi, Trevor;

    Nothing about which to apologize. I’m so grateful for all your help. The category was made a few weeks back. It’s called “Minis”. In the dashboard, categories are found in the Product tab which is immediately under the WooCommerce tab.

    Peace,

    Dave

    Hi, Trevor;

    I don’t recall all the details anymore. Here’s what little I do remember. There was another plug-in called Woo Discount Rules (WDR) that relies on categories to set up the rules. When we created new taxonomies for most of my products, WDR couldn’t do what it needed to. I talked to that developer, and I posted the part that pertains to taxonomies earlier in this topic.

    I don’t recall now if it was you or the WDR developer who suggested that I make a new category just for the products that were to be ignored by the discounts I offered on anything else. I don’t recall why or even if it was fully explored, but that didn’t solve the problem. That’s when you tried several other ideas. When I get some time later in the day, I’ll bet back into WDR to see if I can remember anything more from that. It’s not a critically important part of the product line, but I’ve been unable to sell it at all except by email, and people haven’t been using that option.

    If that sparks your memory better than mine and you know how to move forward with it, that’d be great. If not, I’ll have some more details for you when you arrive in tomorrow morning.

    Peace,

    Dave

    What I need to be able to do is to exclude the “Minis” category from WDR functionality. As far as I know, it’s correctly working on all other parts of the catalog.

    It is a category, yes, but now I don’t remember if that plug-in uses categories or attributes. I’ll have time to dig into this later, but probably not until you’re gone for the day.

    The plugin can use Product Categories, Product Tags, Product Attributes or Product Variations, to my memory.

    Hi Trevor;

    Everyone in the area is pretty caught up in the most recent mass shooting in the states, this one in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh. We’re not far from there, and it’s the part of Pittsburgh I know best. I did some non-productive poking-around, but didn’t get very far. I contacted the developer of the Woo Discount Rules (WDR) plugin for assistance. I haven’t heard back yet.

    I can’t even find where to add excluded categories in WDR. In case this isn’t going to work with WDR, are you aware of another plugin that will use native as well as custom taxonomies? I don’t turn up anything in searches, but I’m not entirely certain what search terms would be productive either.

    Peace,

    Dave
