Since we cannot use the ajax version to search custom fields, I had to revert to the non-ajax version.
However, with the non-ajax version, the filters reset on the results page after every search.
Is there a way to configure the results page to select the active filters?
(Sidenote, when searching for keywords in your forum, you cannot get past page two. So it makes it very hard to see if any of the old posts discuss this.
i.e. this should be the third page of the search for “results”, but it directs you back to page 1:

The search and filter yields correct results, the filters just clear after every submit

You can access the test page here:

I’m back now… I had a look at your live site and everything seems to be working ok?
Can you let me know what the problem is/was? Custom fields should work regardless of Ajax or not 🙂
Thanks
RossAnonymous(Private) October 18, 2014 at 5:06 pm #6110Hi Ross, Thanks for following up.
I am definitely a little fuzzy as to why this works sometimes and not others. I spent a couple days with it and handed it to another developer, and she got it working.
For a while, I thought we were running into this problem:
https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/latest-version-breaks-relevanssi-search/But, we are using “Search Everything” instead of “Relevanssi”, so that might not be it.
And, we never figured out why the filters cleared after search here:
http://ccgrow.staging.wpengine.com/phytotheca/But as you saw, we are fully up and running on the main dev site.
My best guess is as follows:
Through all the testing, we probably ended up with a mismatched combination of dashboard settings and page templates. (i.e. if we don’t use short code from the dashboard, but have a shortcode in the page template, this could be tripping up your system)Anyway, it is all good now. Thanks again for being responsive, and make sure to check out the pagination bug on the search results in your forum. If people could get to the older help topics, it might actually cut down your support time.
Cheers

Cheers for the note about the forum pagination – didn’t realise!
Thanks
