I am trying to get your plugin to work using the wordpress widget in the sidbar along with the loading results as ajax. However it is not working. It appears to attempt to refresh the results on the page, but does nothing to the results – they remain the same regardless of what you select as a category.

I am working with a custom Genesis child the on Wp-Engine host.

You can see what I have set up here: http://revue.staging.wpengine.com/test-category/

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

    Hey Lynn

Are how are you configuring Ajax? You should be using the shortcode method as the other will be deprecated – the reason for the change over is exactly problems like this – its to enable better compatibility with all themes.

So first I would create a blank page.

Add the results shortcode in the body of the page, and then add the widget to the sidebar – but only for this page.

Once that is setup you should hopefully be seeing results that work.

If this doesn’t work for you, can you provide me with temporary login details for the admin? This will ensure I can get it working for you before I go away!

    Thanks

I can’t do it that way. If you look at the link I provided you will see that I’m trying to use it to filter blog posts on specific blog pages. I am not aware of a way to set that up to display blog archives with the filtering. I also want the form input to be in the sidebar… not on the main page.

Ross, sorry for jumping in on this one, but I have the same issue (sarted already in the topic and having the shortcode to display results on one page with the filter widget only on this page, creates these problems:

    – when I click on one of the results (title of the post) it doesn’t open. To open the post I had to get around this and create new layout for the post (I am using ULTIMATUM theme), it opens and shows exactly how it should be, when I don’t put the filter widget in that layout. But this way I do not have the filter widget on the same page anymore.

    – when I clikd on the tag or category of one of the results it doesn’t open. To open the post I had to use the same new layout as in previous case to get the results, but its the same problem as I loose the widget as it can’t be on the same site to get results like this.

Compared to free search & filter plugin I had no issue with this as it works with results, single post, multipost + widget – it works everytime, but it doens’t have the functionalities of the PRO plugin.

I need this filter widget to be accessible anytime someone sees posts either with searches, filtering, clicking on posts, tags, categories, if someone looks at the list of posts or one post the widget should be there.

I would really appreciate any help at least direction how to solve this. THanks

Lynn I hope you find a good solution for your issue as well.

well, it looks like he left without attempting any resolution to this. It also sounds like it is an on-going issue for quite a few other people. I don’t intend to pay for a plugin that doesn’t work.

    Hi both

Been extremely busy with outing out lots of work before a holiday as you can imagine.

I will be taking a day out of my holiday now to help with these requests.

Just to note, to achieve the same kind of filtering as with the free then you must not use Ajax, then it will work the same as the free version.

    Thanks

Same problem on my page, even when ajax is disabled. Seems to be a permalink problem: /?category=aussagen&sfid=2393 does not change the results on home or index page, because it is not linking to the category archiv. Other custom taxonomies are working and the free version works too, giving out: /categories/aussagen/?sfid=2393
Any idea? Thank you…by the way, I prefer the old ajax-way without shortcodes, just filtering home/index!
