Do you support showing “Active Filters”?(Private) June 2, 2023 at 4:17 pm #276808Hi all, I think We’re about a month or two of solid work away, but I have some things to deal with over June that’s going to prevent me from working on it as much as I’d like to (we have other devs on it, but my contribution is significant and will slow things down when I’m not available).
At this stage, I’m going to move the dates one last time, and I’m going to go an limb here and say – by the end of summer v3 pro will be available to those that that want it.
Thanks

V3 comming soon?(Private) May 11, 2023 at 4:09 pm #276794Hi all
We have an update for S&F v2 waiting on some user feedback before releasing – it fixes some issues affecting a small number of users.
As Trevor mentioned it is largely stable – we mostly only see issues regarding our 3rd party integrations such as Elementor these days, and those compatibility plugins have been updated much more recently (Elementor addon plugin was updated 2 weeks ago). For the main v2 plugin, we are only pushing maintenance fixes & security updates until v3 is ready.
Regarding v3, there will be 2 versions, a free and pro version. The free version is currently in beta testing, waiting for the release of Pro in order to be officially released – they will be released together.
Anyone can go and test it by signing up to the v3 mailing list here: https://searchandfilter.com/version-3/
We send invites roughly weekly and currently there have been over 500 invites sent. To note, the free version is roughly about 65% of all the work required for v3 and is the framework for the Pro plugin – the pro plugin becomes an addon plugin to the free plugin. Thats hopefully a tangible way to measure that progress has been made aside from my assurances.
V3 Pro (the beta testing version) is currently looking about a month away – this is not a fixed date – all I can say is we are moving forward with it as quickly as possible as always.
We do not recommend anyone holds up progress on any of their projects while waiting on v3 – we can’t provide a fixed date for it to be ready, nor can we give a timeline how long the plugin will be in beta testing – but we will make the beta available to those that want it.
V2 will continue to be supported with essential fixes / security updates for a year (to be confirmed) following the release of v3 as this won’t be an automatic upgrade for now – we’re still finalising these details but this is our current thinking.
Thanks

Search inside user meta data(Private) December 5, 2022 at 5:16 pm #276693@Oliver
While we do not plan on integrating S&F with user data directly, you will be able to pass those IDs into a query to restrict those searches to those post IDs…
S&F v3 is due early next year – unfortunately we cannot confirm an exact date, however v3 free is working, and is in public testing, and we’re about 80% of the way there with pro.
Thanks

Search inside user meta data(Private) December 5, 2022 at 5:11 pm #276691Hi Pablo
This feature is not currently in progress or planned.
We likely won’t support data associated with users directly in our search results.
Thanks

Do you support showing “Active Filters”?(Private) October 10, 2022 at 8:57 am #276670Hi Rudi + all
Right now we have v3 free in general testing (since september) – https://twitter.com/SearchAndFilter/status/1570142919247679488.
If you sign up to the mailing list in my previous message, it’ll take about a week (for new subscribers) and we’ll send a copy out – however I’m assuming you’ll be waiting for the pro version (but you can see some of the new design tools we’re adding to get an idea of whats coming).
Re v3 pro – we are aiming for February 2023. This is not a hard date, but we’ll know more by the end of this year and should be able to give a more accurate timeline – I will try to update this thread around then also.
Re v2 – while we are not adding features to it – we are still maintaining it – that includes bug fixes and security updates.
I think its better if I don’t give hard dates in future as I’m usually far too optimistic with our estimations.
And apologies, I not checked these forums as often as I’d like and have let this slip amongst the busy months we’ve had with the release of v3 free.
Thanks

Trigger the infinite scroll through a “load more” button, not automatically(Private) July 18, 2022 at 2:12 pm #276616This is just to let you know we are absolutely not giving up on S&F v3.
Custom Layouts was originally planned to be part of Search & Filter v3 (the most common request we’ve had is for this feature), but we decided to break it out into its own plugin instead.
Its a pretty advanced layout solution that we felt not everyone would need, and plenty of people might want without requiring Search & Filtering capabilities – so we released it for free.
RE v3, its still in progress, I’ve left more information here on the journey so far and how we’ve got to this stage:
https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/do-you-support-showing-active-filters/page/2/#post-276559Essentially we’re about to release v3 (free) for general testing…
Its a complete rewrite, with tons more features that we had before (and would have been able to do before).
I understand the frustration that our v2 has stagnated, but it still offers plenty of functionality for a competetitive price – a “load more” button is one of many features that have been requested but we’ve opted to put that on hold in favor of building the best possible architecture for v3, and building those features into v3 instead – it’s not been an easy decision but we’re almost there now.
Hopefully you will see the fruits of our labor very soon.
