I am trying to add Search and filter to the following page:
http://www.xtd.lkg.mybluehost.me/schools
I am trying to create this type of search filter:
https://studycolorado.org/schools/
This page is already designed and set up as a page but I have no clue how to integrate or use the WP Bakery addon plugin you supplied.
Anonymous(Private) November 20, 2020 at 11:57 am #267277Thank you. I will make an attempt at that. I guess the deeper question is, how do I set up the form to search individual items on a page, this is just a standard WP Page with each item having a link to a popup window (eventually).I did download the WP Bakery Page Buider extension. However, I need some guidance or tutorials to walk me through creating the base page to search the colleges by degrees and majors then create the form — I believe.
Thank you
Trevor(Private) November 23, 2020 at 3:58 pm #267530My advice would be to create a Custom Post Type (Schools), and possibly one or more custom taxonomies or custom fields for that post type, and then create a post for each school in that Post Type. Then use the WPBakery Page Builder Post grid module to display them, using our extension plugin as well as core plugin.
The Search & Filter WPBakery Page Builder Extension can be downloaded and then installed from clicking the big blue button (you need to be logged in to see it) at the top of the guide page:
https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/wpbakery-page-builder-formerly-visual-composer/
And then follow that guide.
Anonymous(Private) November 25, 2020 at 4:16 pm #267821OK. Thank you. Not something I have normally done, so I will have to look into creating these type of posts and integrating them into my search and website. If you have any recommendations on plugins or tutorials, that would be great. Thaks again.
Trevor(Private) November 25, 2020 at 6:14 pm #267842Do let me know how you get on, and whether I can close this thread? Do note that some theme authors modify the included version of WPBakery Page Builder and remove the Posts module that our extension needs. Some hide it, but allow you to reveal it.
Anonymous(Private) November 25, 2020 at 7:44 pm #267861I’ll keep you posted. May be a while. But as I understand you, I create the individual posts with the searchable taxonomy and keywords, but they hide in the background and are displayed as a grid on my webpage. That way, when clicked on the web link for each school I still get the popup page and not a link back to the posts, which I do not want public since they are for search purposes only.
