I am using Search & filter pro in combination with Advance custom fields, and one of the fields has +/- 9000 options. This field is searchable with a multi-select combo-box, and has auto-count + update on user interaction activated.
Loading the search page is not a problem, but displaying the results + the search form causes a typical white screen when non of the 9000 choices are filtered out, it seems WordPress is chocking on the amount of data it has to output. I’ve saved the html of one of the result pages that did complete (only 7000 of the options still showing), and this pure html file weighted 5 MB.
So, I played around with the settings on the server, increased the mem limit, execution time, input vars, output buffering, and basically everything that I thought might have an influence. Problem is that I simply don’t know if I am thinking in the right direction.
Is it a PHP limit, server setting, search&filter limit, WordPress issue… I am at a loss here :/
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
