Tagged: custom post type, query_posts
I have a custom post type set up and I am using query_posts to set the order of the posts via a custom field.
<?php
$args = array(
'order' => 'ASC',
'post_type' => 'schedule',
'meta_key' => 'date_time',
'orderby' => 'meta_value',
);
query_posts($args);
if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
It seems that by using this I can’t also use Search and Filter as well. When I try filtering the results the page refreshes and I can see the URL changes. I could see in your FAQs you suggest removing query_posts. Is there some way I can get them to work together?
Hi DeAnne
There is no real way to use S&F with your own query, because S&F will probably overwrite all the properties you have assigned with its own.
That being said, you can change the order of your posts using meta keys, by going to the “posts” tab of your search form.
And you can do a S&F query_posts simply by using this action:
do_action("search_filter_do_query", 1234);
Where 1234 is the ID of your search form.
Thanks
