upgrade to 2.1.2 fails

hi guys
how do i upgrade to search and filter pro 2.1.2
currently using 1.4.3 i have an active license but it keeps saying it’s unauthorized.
i have downloaded the latest zip so should i do it manually by deactivating and deleting my current version? will i lose my existing settings that way?

yes i did thanks – i haven’t tried the ftp method yet as those notes didn’t really answer my query about retaining my existing settings.
otherwise, i’ve gone through all the “before you upgrade” notes and it’s still failing through the admin panel.

Do you receive an error message, or what indication do you get that it has failed to install?

If you switch WP_DEBUG to true (in the wp-config.php file in your web server WordPress folder it is set as false by default), do you see any error messages?

An error occurred while updating Search & Filter Pro: Download failed. Unauthorized

the above is the error msg as displayed on the wp updates page. i’m not entirely sure my license key has been activated properly – once i activate it in my settings… it still appears with the option to activate?

Ah, now I see. You will have to download the file from s from Your Account and use the ftp method. As long as you do not delete the S&F plugin from the plugins page in your WP admin, the settings will be retained (but I would make a full backup before proceeding).
