You may need to perform the upgrade manually. Go to your account area and download it to your computer:
https://www.designsandcode.com/account/
Then there is a procedure to follow to safely install it, which I will list here:
1) Deactivate S&F in WP Admin Plugins page (do not delete, otherwise you will lose your search form)
2) Via FTP, delete search-filter-pro folder from the wp-content\plugins folder on your server. If you wish to keep the folder, just in case, do NOT rename it, instead move it UP a folder into the wp-content folder.
3) Unzip the file that you downloaded.
4) Upload the search-filter-pro folder to the wp-content\plugins folder on your server.
5) Activate Search and Filter plugin in WP Admin plugins page
6) Go to the Search & Filter Pro Settings in WP Admin and make sure that Load JavaScript & CSS files is ON and Lazyload is OFF. SAVE the settings even IF you make NO changes. This is IMPORTANT to do.Anonymous(Private) August 15, 2016 at 10:53 am #54573Thanks very much, Trevor.
Followed your guideline to do it via FTP and it’s working now.
Can I please ask you another quick question? In the search results page, the titles are in h2 but I want to have them in h4 instead. Previously I edited the S&F results.php to change the size, but lost that change now that I updated the plugin. Is there an easier way of doing this? A css code I can put into my theme custom css, for example?
Many thanks again.
Anonymous(Private) September 28, 2016 at 10:17 pm #60912I’m having the same issue updating, but updating via FTP by replacing the S&F folder in wp-content/plugins with the new S&F plugin erases all of my S&F configurations in the WordPress dashboard. I had a backup of the install, so I didn’t lose that information, but I’m stuck at this point. Would you mind helping me? Thanks!
