Hi,
I have 2 queries:
- I set up a simple search form that has a keyword field and 3 taxonomy dropdowns with a submit button. Without even selecting any of the taxonomy filters, if I type in any keyword (even something silly like “oogilie”), the results that display don’t have anything to do with the search term. I opted to display the results using the shortcode method and set up a page where I have pasted both search form and results shortcode and have the results page URL pasted into the results URL field in the form set up.<br>
I followed the instructions for displaying results using a shortcode (https://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/search-results/using-a-shortcode/), so I’m hoping that there is a simple fix. Unfortunately, the site is on a university intranet, so you won’t be able to see it (although if need be, I could privately give access).
- Is it possible to highlight keyword search terms when results are displayed? I’m guessing that an additional plugin might be needed, but I would have thought that the pro version of this plugin might already have that functionality? The project team are hoping that the search results displayed do something like a Google search result (i.e., instead of just showing the start of the page content, that the sections of the page where the search term appears is shown with the term highlighted).
I appreciate your help with these 2 queries.
KalliTrevor(Private) February 20, 2017 at 9:27 am #91373Hi
I will answer these questions in reverse.
The current pro version (v2.x) supports Relevanssi text search, but not the tagged search results (which includes the highlight feature), so for now that is not possible. For V3 (currently we are writing this), we intend to produce a plugin with a core functionality with extensions, so you pick/install only the ones you need. For example, Visual Composer grid support, and Relevanssi. It is our intention to explore the option to better support the tags/highlights feature of Relevanssi.
At this time I cannot commit further than that.
As to the first question, on our standard search, if you use a search term that does not exist, you should get no results found, unless the site is trying to return results with relevance. I would need somehow to see the setup and the search form.

Thanks so much for your reply. You helped to get me on the right track.
For point #1, I realized that Relevanssi was enabled in the advanced tab which is what caused the results display issue.
For point #2, are you saying that if I install Relevanssi that their highlight feature will not work with the current version of S&F Pro? Is there a rough timeline when v3 will be released?
