Hi, is there a way we can speed up the search result on our site https://kitchensofsurrey.co.uk/kitchen/, if you could notice Search engine quite slow when start drilling down in a search
We set up the caching speed to medium http://prntscr.com/l1ok5p but it still doesn’t speed up the search. It took more than 6seconds to load once ticked, and the reset is also slow.

Can you help us speed the search? Thank you!

    Hi again Trevor,

I tried to deactivate our cache plugin to see if it is the one who affects the search loading time, but I think it still loads the same. Still slow even if not logged in as admin.

We have a staging site here http://kitchensofsurrey.internet-systems.co.uk/kitchen/ and it loads even faster. You think it’s with the server issue?

    Thank you!

The server is the most likely issue. With the CDN and various caches in place, it is difficult for me to gauge the actual speed of the server, which is likely the main concern.

    Hello Trevor,

Thanks for checking in. So it’s still fine to use the cache plugin on the site?
We’ll contact our server technical team about it, what do you think should we need to ask and say to them? Thank you!

You need to do a ‘real’ server speed test, so with the CDN and WordPress caches/minifiers OFF.

You also need to know the real physical location of the server, which you can find out here:

    https://www.site24x7.com/find-website-location.html

And the actual speed test (try to find a testing Location as close the the server location as possible, there is a list to choose from):

    https://www.site24x7.com/web-page-analyzer.html

It will also give you a link to share with me of the results if you need me to interpret them.

DO test it on a page that has the search on.

    Hello Trevor

We decided to move to another hosting which is based on UK too. That is the hosting we used on our staging site. Hopefully, this will resolve the speed issue.

This is the speed result of the test you gave:

We’ll keep you informed once we moved to another server. Thank you!

    Thank you Trevor.

Should we also pass this report to our server team? Might help them analyze the issue.
