Show / Hide / Reveal / Toggle Taxonomies

Hello!
I was wondering if there is a way of toggle each “parent” category to reveal the children?
In the best case even with hiding one after revealing another one?
I read somewhere that you were thinking about adding this in V.3 which was supposed to come out some months ago – you have some details to the release of V.3?:)

Thank in advance, this would help me (and I think many others) SO MUCH.

It will be in V3, which we are working hard to get finished. I do not have a fixed ETA, but I can say it will not be in 2020, but very soon thereafter.
