Hello. I have my website up and working and the search function works as expected. The only problem I’m facing is that occasionally the search fields revert back to picking up values when I have stipulated the post meta as an ACF field. It seems to be a cache issue, as if I re-build the cache it goes back to using the values.
This is especially an issue because it’s a dual language website and so the checkbox options don’t display the Japanese. Any suggestions as to why this might be happening. Does it have something to do with Ajax being selected?
Regards,

Up to and including version 2.2.0 of Search & Filter, the plugin only supports simple ACF fields. The next step up are the
Relational
fields. We have added this support in the forthcoming 2.3.0, which is due out soon. Maybe this is the problem?Anonymous(Private) November 22, 2016 at 11:28 am #71598Sorry, I don’t think my question was clear enough. I’m not using relational fields–just checkbox and dropdown menus for which I need to input “values : labels” for the choices.
blue : Blue
red : Red… and so forth. I change the labels for Japanese while keeping the values the same.
blue : 青
red : 赤This works perfectly with the search function displaying the correct label based on the language. But then occasionally the checkboxes change to display the values (which is especially a problem when the user has selected Japanese). This happens every so often and if I rebuild the cache it displays correctly again, but I can’t work out why the problem occurs in the first place. I’m wondering if there is some setting I should change?
Trevor(Private) November 23, 2016 at 11:24 am #71899Do you think that this is related to the issue in this thread?

Anonymous(Private) December 13, 2016 at 7:39 am #75885Hi Trevor,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I wish to report the above issue as a bug (it is not related to the thread you mentioned above). The issue has happened to be numerous times over the past few weeks, and each time a manual rebuild of the cache in the back-end resolves the issue… temporarily.
I’ve been trying to work out what exactly causes the issue, but to no avail. I can’t logically see one change that I make on the back-end that results in the plugin reverting to values instead of labels for ACF fields (and I’m making no changes whatsover to the options for the search in the admin panel). My only (uninformed) guess is that when a new entry is made to a post on which the filter will act (or an existing post is changed) the cache update is not the same as a full cache rebuild and somewhere along the way the plugin forgets that it needs to display the ACF choice labels instead of values. All of which is especially an issue for multi-lingual websites.
On an unrelated note, I want to buy the single site licence for another site but cannot work out how I can do that through your menu. I only have an option to upgrade/purchase the developer version. Can you please advise.
Thanks,
Ross -
