Tagged: sort order
Hey,
I have a site with multiple custom post types. Each post type has different custom fields, but include a “featured” Check box field. When I try to set the primary or secondary sort order to that custom field, It will only show one of the post types.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
If the field is a typical checkbox (check for ON, leave unchecked for off), WordPress will only save post meta if it is ON, so sorting by this field will exclude all posts that have ‘featured’ set to OFF, as it will not store ANY post meta data (it saves space in the database), so they cannot be sorted.
The field in the posts would have to be formatted as a choice (a radio button), where the default is set to “0 : No”, and the user can change this to “1 : Yes”.
This means you would have to go back then and edit and save all posts 🙁
