    I would recommend you install the ACF plugin. That will allow you to add custom fields of the types that you need. Make sure you are certain how you want the search to work/look BEFORE you make these fields and before you add any data. Date fields would normally be set to save in the format YYYYMMDD, but that search you refer to has simplified things greatly and those dates are in a simple string/text field.
