Hey Gerardo
Just for clarity… Can you explain exactly what you are trying to achieve, and what you want the experience to be for your users?
I think maybe I am misunderstanding you :/
Thanks
Anonymous(Private) January 15, 2015 at 4:36 pm #10323Hi Ross, thanks again, ok here it goes…
We are a promotional products company in Mexico, we have a site in wordpress and have our products database in woocomerce, we carry 2 types of products, simple and variable, and since our portfolio includes around 2400 products, its really hard for the users to find the stock they need quikly, we purchased the plug in so if the user wants to find a certain amount of stock in certain product he can find it very quikly, instead of cheking each product separately…
hope I made myself clear,
regards
Ross Moderator(Private) January 15, 2015 at 4:51 pm #10328Yes very clear I get it now! 🙂
But, it seems as though what we are doing should be working to some extent – do you have a link I could look at?
Thanks
Anonymous(Private) January 15, 2015 at 5:10 pm #10330Perfect, I attach a link where you can find a basic search by product range.
for example purposes, we added a product that has 150 units of stock, as we enter in the search field from 150 to 150 it should show that product, but it shows nothing…

I also atach an image of we are introducing the stock in each product, as a reference.
Anonymous(Private) January 15, 2015 at 7:03 pm #10331Hello again Ross, just to let you know we managed to make it work, but only for products that don´t carry color variations, for products that are variable we dont know where to specify each color stock, I attach an image of how we introduce stock for simple products,
one more time thanks for your time and support,
regards
Ross Moderator(Private) January 19, 2015 at 4:55 pm #10516Hey Gerardo, no need to bump.
I will be looking at this today – just going through the weekend backlog of support..
My first thoughts are, if variations are seperate products with their own
_stock
values then it won’t be possible like this – One field (in S&F UI) always = 1 meta field – it can’t work across multiple.Unfortunately I don’t have much experience with variations so I need to do some further testing.
If this does not work, then what you would need to do is create a
_total_stock
meta key on your main product, that automatically get the total stock across all variations.Aside from that it is possible there is already another variable (not called
_stock
) in woocommerce that has this data in.Thanks
Anonymous(Private) January 19, 2015 at 5:36 pm #10521Hey Ross, thanks for your reply, I didnt mean to sound pushy..
I get what you say, the problem is that most of our products have color variations, and separate stocks,
do you think there´s a way of modifying the code so it could work this way? if there is something you think you can develop, please condider we are willing to pay for your time and work..thanks again,
regards
