    Is it possible to have the shortcode output/convert into a php template file
    so people like me (front-end developer) can alter and design the search form exact the way we perfer?

    At this time, this is not possible. It is part of the next major release, V3, but that is some months away yet.

    For now it is necessary to to create custom CSS to make the form as you wish.
