    I’ve been testing a little more. It seems it only doesn’t work when the parent page query is set to ‘search in the following post types: Posts’. If I change that to another CPT, everything works fine.

    Also it’s not even necessary that I’m ‘painting’ that search form, just being there in the admin is messing with the other two… If it goes to the trash, everything’s fine. If I change the CPT, everything works.

    It might have been something in the theme core functions/code stopping it. Thanks for letting me know. I will close this thread for now.
