Back when I was on a version before 2, my ‘sort by’ feature worked fine and displayed results by what it was supposed to within the woocommerce product archive. But since the upgrade to the latest version when I click ‘sort by’ from just a basic category view without any search involved it immediately displays the full shop items as a search and filter archive. It basically renders the ‘sort by’ feature useless. Not sure what happened here or how ‘sort by’ got mixed up with search and filter. Website is bikergirlbling.com. Can you help me out here?

I can see what the issue is. You have, in effect, 3 searches going on. In the header you have an S&F search, then in left sidebar you have a WooCommerce search, and the last one is the order by.
Instead, they ought to be one search, an S&F search with the order by built in.
Also, the S&F search is set up as an Archives search of products, but in fact might/ought to be a WooCommerce Search?
What was the reason for the 3 separate searches?

I am fairly sure I (or you and I) can fix it. I am getting to feel that you are somewhat disillusioned with your developer?
From the site details I am guessing your are across the pond from us Brits?
Are you on Skype and do you have a webcam and/or mic?
