Hey Darron
The new ajax way with shortcodes Didnt allow this (the old way did) but there is an update coming tomorrow which will allow this ๐
Make sure your license is activated and you should see an update tomorrow ๐
Thanks
RossAnonymous(Private) November 8, 2014 at 2:39 pm #7247Thanks Ross!
Didnt see the update, but will be watching for it. I now have Ajax working well on this page:
http://www.mysurfflicks.com/browse-all-surf-films/I am working on the custom results.php now and that is also coming along well. I created 2 searches, one with Ajax, one without. The non-ajax search is used throughout the site in widgeted areas. Once I am able to enable Ajax from widgeted areas, this site will be a very powerful engine thanks to this plugin! Looking forward to the update ๐
My home page also has the search widgeted using Genesis Framework. Once this update is released, how do you think I should handle the results from the homepage? Should I redirect to another page or customize the homepage to display the results?

The latest update is live now (1.3.0) – there was a delay ๐
To enable what you need with ajax, you must look at the
Results URL
option – this needs to be filled in for it to work properly – searches that use ajax will initially redirect to a page with the results shortcode and then continue to operate via ajax only once on a search results page. Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) November 10, 2014 at 1:50 pm #7330Hey Philip
Did you activate your license?
Once you activate it and press submit, it will tell you on the license screen that it is activated.
Thanks

The license was still activated on staging – I’ve just removed the activation so please go ahead and try to reactivate ๐
Thanks
Anonymous(Private) November 12, 2014 at 12:10 am #7454Thanks Ross! AJAX Working and managing the results using 2 different search forms. Widgeted areas in primary sidebar and home page using static (must press submit) then that redirects to
http://www.mysurfflicks.com/browse-all-surf-films/
Which then has the shortcode for my second search which allows user to see results and filter more using ajax live. Thank you!
So that brings me to another possible enhancement/suggestion ๐
With the redirect, when a user uses my second search form, it searches only the results from the first.
1. Would it be possible to create a ‘clear search’ button so the user can start from scratch?
or
2. Which is even bigger, bolder and better :), allow filtering of filters, or a drill-down functionality. In other words, if like on my site, a user selects Genre Classic, then the next taxonomy ‘surfers’ would only show surfers from the genre ‘Classics’. Allowing the user to drill down (or up) selections in the form as AJAX updates the possible films available. Does that make sense?
Just an idea, as the functionality now is real good compared to all other WP Search plugins, but just thinking next level.
Thanks Again!

Fortunately for you both of these will be added ๐
Clear button is hopefully coming in the next week or so and the option (2) is already in dev – however this will take some time to complete…
Thanks
Anonymous(Private) November 12, 2014 at 3:38 pm #7478That is wicked awesome news! My site is live but really still in dev and low traffic until I’m ready to promote. If you need any live beta/user testing I am a willing participant. As long as it doesn’t blow up my site, can try things if need be. ๐
Thanks Again!
