Search field only searching for exact match

Hi,

is it possible to edit search & filter, so that it only returns exact words?
An example of this:

We use search & filter for displaying and searching recipes.
If a user searches for “chicken”, they get all posts that contain that word, but also posts that contain the word “chickenbouillon”

I want to exclude the posts that don’t contain the exact search word.

Yes it is. The Search & Filter Pro Text Search field uses the standard WordPress search, so looks only in the Post Title and Content. To help you control this better, on the form’s Advanced settings tab you will see 2 settings for Relevanssi.

You would need to install and activate the free Relevanssi plugin as well.

Then set Relevanssi up and build its index (make sure it is indexing the desired post types, custom fields AND any taxonomy that you want to search).

In its settings you can set the text phrase to exact match and other options for fallback searches.
