    Hi,
we have configured a first form to test it with posts and pages and it works perfectly but when we use a form for CPT searches it fails.
Our form has been built with these fields: Search, two taxonomies and a sort order field.

When we filter by one taxonomy or both of them, the form works correctly but if we use the search field, it does not take into account the information inside this field.

I can send you login details if you wish.

    Thanks

    Hello Oscar

I logged in but you are editing the form, so it is locked to me. However, it may not be necessary. The text search field in Search and Filter (and WordPress default search is the same) only searches in Titles and Content.

To extend this to other data, you need to install the free Relevanssi plugin, find the section for custom field and put all in that option setting. Make sure it is indexing all the posts and custom posts, taxonomies you need and build the index. In S&F Pro, on the advanced tab, enable support for Relevanssi.

    Hi Trevor,
I have closed the page in order you to be able to see the form. In this moment, the form is not searching neither the title not the content.

thanks for the information about the Relevanssi plugin, I need to find in all the data of each custom post type. I wil try to use it after this is working properly.

Can you give me a search to make so I can see it not working?

    Working!

Can I know why was not working?
There is anything that I have to take into account in order not to break the form now?

    Thanks for the quick response!

In the advanced tab you hade the two options for Relevanssi ticked, but for this you need to install the Relevanssi plugin, which you had not done. So I have unchecked them. Also, the Results URL was not a full URL (it is now), it was only the page name. I also switched off the setting for Maintain Search Form State, but I do not know if you need this. I generally do not enable this.

Can I close this thread now?

Was this support OK? You can leave a review if you wish:
